Livsi

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 27, 2026

Livsi helps caregivers find benefits, services, and support for someone with a disability. That means you may tell us sensitive things about the person you care for. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • You can build a Care Map without an account. Those answers aren't saved to our database.
  • If you create an account, we save your answers so your Care Map stays up to date.
  • We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
  • Experiences with programs are private for now. Ratings and feedback you give about providers are shared anonymously to help other families find the best care — never with your name or your loved one's name.
  • You can edit or delete what you've saved at any time.

What we collect

If you use Livsi without an account. When you answer the Navigator questions, your answers are used to build your Care Map on the spot. They are not stored in our database. To let you come back to your map, your browser remembers it on your device only; you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data. Your answers are carried in the Care Map's web address, so our hosting provider's standard request logs may briefly include them.

If you create an account, we store:

  • Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we can never see them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
  • Care Map answers for each person you add: first name (optional), birth month and year, state and ZIP code (optional), needs or diagnoses you select, current health coverage, whether they have an IEP or 504 plan, household size, an income range or exact amount (optional), and whether they're working.
  • Things you choose to share: your status with a program (for example, “applying”), the experiences and tips you write, and providers you recommend.
  • Share links you create for a Care Map.

Automatically: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and reliability. We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect password resets. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To build and update your Care Map and show which programs may fit.
  • To run your account: signing in, confirming your email, resetting your password, and security notices.
  • To improve Livsi's program information and guidance.
  • To learn from families' experiences. We may use service providers, including AI tools, to find common patterns in the experiences and tips people write — for example, how long an application usually takes. These providers process the text only on our behalf.
  • In the future, to show other families helpful summaries and tips. Anything shown publicly will be anonymous and will never include your name, your loved one's name, or your contact details.

We don't sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or share it with insurers or employers.

Who can see your information

  • You. Your account's data is protected by database security rules so that only you can read or change it.
  • People you share a link with. A share link lets anyone who has it view that one Care Map. It doesn't show your account, your ZIP code, or an exact income amount. You can turn a link off at any time.
  • Service providers who help us run Livsi, under agreements to protect your data: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (account emails), and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google).
  • If required by law, for example to respond to a valid legal order, or to protect someone's safety.

Your choices

  • Edit or remove anyone you've added, and their Care Map, in Profile. Removing a person deletes their answers, experiences, and the providers on their care team. Ratings and feedback you gave about providers stay, anonymously, detached from your account and without your name or theirs.
  • Delete your account by emailing support@livsi.org from your account's email address. We'll delete your account and everything saved with it within 30 days, except ratings and feedback about providers, which stay anonymously.
  • Ask for a copy of what we have about you by emailing support@livsi.org.
  • Stop sharing a Care Map link from the Share panel on your Care Map.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to saved data is limited by per-user database rules. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and sign out on shared devices. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we'll notify you as required by law.

Children and health information

Livsi is for adults caring for someone with a disability. Accounts must be created by adults (18 or older). Information about a child is provided by their parent, guardian, or caregiver, who controls it and can delete it at any time. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

Livsi is not a healthcare provider or health plan, and it isn't covered by HIPAA. We still treat what you tell us as sensitive and handle it with care.

Changes and contact

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email before the changes take effect. Questions or requests: support@livsi.org.
